For the first time ever, the heroes of the "Kajko and Kokosz" comics have been immortalized on a coin!
The first coin in the seriesKajko and Kokosz", which presents the fate of famous comic book heroes. It was released to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the first comic book.
Reverse of the coin represents the essence of the entire series. They are in the central part colorful the main characters, i.e. Kajko (on the left) and Kokosz (on the right). Around them there are important supporting characters: Aunt Jaga (on a broomstick), Gdaś the raven, Mirmił the castellan, the robber Łamignat, Hegemon, Corporal, Miluś the dragon and Lubawa. At the top of the reverse is the date of creation of the first comic, and at the bottom is the logo of the series. The coin is decorated with an ultra-high relief, which is as much as 3 mm! Each of the coins is numbered, so there is no other like it in the world!
In turn on obverse there is an image of the castle of castellan Mirmił, where Slavic warriors lived. In the central part there is the issuer's coat of arms, the denomination, fineness of the bullion and the weight of the coin.
The coin was minted from 2 ounces of pure silver in a limited edition of 500 pcs. It is packed in a themed box with certificate of authenticity.
Kajko and Kokosz is a series of comics by Janusz Christa, which has become his most popular work. The heroes of the comic are the titular Kajko and Kokosz, two Slavic warriors living in the town of castellan Mirmił. Their main enemies are the Robbers under the command of the Hegemon.
Janusz Christa (*July 19, 1934 Vilnius – † November 15, 2008 Sopot) – one of the most outstanding and popular comic book artists in Poland. From 1945 he lived and worked in Sopot. Creator of the comic series Kajko i Kokosz, Kajtek i Koko, Gucek i Roch. He published his first works in the "Jazz" monthly, "Przygoda" magazine, "Głos Wybrzeża" daily newspaper and "Nowa Wieś" weekly. In 1957, he started collaborating with the Gdańsk afternoon newspaper "Wieczór Wybrzeża", where the adventures of Kajtek and Kok and Kajka i Kokosz were published for 17 years. After leaving "Wieczor", the adventures of Mirmił's brave warriors, the author drew for "Świat Młodych" and "Relax" magazine, for which he also created many other interesting stories in various styles, including a quasi-realistic comic book with the adventures of Guck and Roch. In the 1980s and 1990s, nearly 30 albums with Janusz Christa's comics were published, and their total circulation exceeded 10 million copies.
